As a child Michael developed a love of coins and antiquities. Drawn to the intricate detail and historical anecdotes which accompanied them, Michael's passion for coin collecting began. This ever increasing collection later funded his business venture into the world of jewellery where his love of all things refined & detailed evolved.

Michael's natural flair for business was encouraged and mentored by his grandfather, the late Des Scanlan, a prominent and successful entrepreneur.

In 2006, at the age of 21, Michael opened his first boutique store in the fashionable Racecourse Road at Ascot. This inaugural store saw the launch of the Cotton & Co label. It quickly gained a local following and a reputation for quality and bespoke jewellery pieces.

Three years on, Michael launched his second Cotton & Co store in Elizabeth Street Brisbane. Now joined by two award winning designers, the label expanded to release Signature and Seasonal Collections marketed Australia wide.

Today Cotton & Co is an Australian jewellery design house taking pride and pleasure in offering exclusive & luxurious adornment for today's modern woman.
